Transparency

My first large piece of work based on an organic form that provides a natural elegance. The colored discs bring cheerfulness and playfulness to the work. The ever-changing sunlight keeps the sculpture in "motion." The iron will "live" over time under the influence of rust. It will oxidize to the beautiful orange-red.

Above all, I want to convey a sense of warmth with this sculpture.

This sculpture was one of the winners of the National Expo 2022. During the period December 2022 and January 2023 it was exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. (KMSKA)

Translucency

With "Translucensy," the follow-up to "Transparency" is a reality. Colors are also essential in this work. They bring cheerfulness, playfulness and warmth to the organic forms of the sculpture. The sun can shine on this to its heart's content and will provide ever-changing light.

Again, over time the steel will rust and take on a life of its own.

Following Intuition

"Following Intuition" emerges from the fusion of Corten steel and stainless steel bars, a harmonious marriage of rugged strength and sleek elegance. In its form, there lies a subtle dance between the raw, weathered texture of Cortensteel and the polished precision of stainless steel. Each element plays its part in a symphony of contrasts, symbolizing the complex interplay between intuition and reason.

The true meaning of "following intuition" lies in recognizing that there are insights and wisdom within oneself that go beyond conscious thought or analysis. It's about listening to that inner voice, that subtle feeling or sense of direction, and allowing it to guide actions and choices.

"Beacons of Hope" rises as a fusion of steel and light, a sculpture that elevates the soul and embodies the inexhaustible power of hope. The work has the stretched elegance of an obelisk, but with a unique, organic form that exudes growth, energy and resilience. At the top, the metal unfolds like the chalice of a flower, revealing a warm, transparent spire - a flame of light that dispels shadows and colors the horizon with hope.

Beacons of Hope testifies that, even in times of darkness, the future unfolds for those who dare to see. It urges the spirit to dream without limits, believe without fear and welcome the unknown with an open heart.

The storm rages over the sea, a primal force that raises waves to mountains and breaks them foaming. The wind howls like a beast, dragging everything into a churning maelstrom.

But in the midst of that violence glows a colorful disc-a beacon of calm. Like the sun through breaking clouds, it shines like a silent heart in the storm.

The work embodies resilience, the stillness that no storm can break.

Ignis Volta - Eternal Sparke

A bolt of lightning captured in metal. A primal force frozen in form.

This work embodies a paradox: that something as fleeting as lightning—a flash of pure energy, born of the charged tension between heaven and earth — can be held, forged, immortalized.

Ignis Volta – Eternal Spark is an incantation of that moment: when the uncontrollable becomes tangible for just an instant. The form follows no logic, but an instinctive line— like a scar of light drawn across the sky.

Passion

"Passion" is a powerful interplay of the raw and the refined, of chaos and harmony. The black iron circle—rugged, unyielding—bears the marks of struggle, with protrusions reaching both inward and outward. A symbol of passion that attracts and repels, holds fast and lets go.

At its heart float two red, undulating glass elements—sensual, fragile, and fiery. They writhe like bodies in ecstasy, bending toward each other, almost touching, yet remaining just out of reach.

My love is eternal, unbreakable as steel, fiery as molten glass. No matter how stormy the road may be, no matter how far or near you are — this love will continue to burn, always.

Helix Embrace

In Helix Embrace, steel unfolds as a living movement. Curved steel winds upward in an organic helix, as if it were growing rather than being shaped. What is normally hard and inflexible takes on rhythm and breath here.

At the center shines an elongated, transparent yellow pyramid. Like a warm, luminous heart, it brings energy, joy, and softness to the dark, raw metal. The helix embraces and protects this core in a continuous upward movement.

Anchored in a rust-colored base, an interplay of strength, light, and positive energy emerges.

Unite

UNITE is an artistic gesture that wishes the upcoming edition of the festival happiness and success, while also highlighting the power of connection.

UNITE stands for connection, happiness, and togetherness. With this work, I want to offer Tomorrowland my support and wish it happiness and success for the upcoming edition. As a resident of Boom, I have felt a strong connection to the festival my entire life; it has become an integral part of the town's identity. At the same time, I want this work to send a positive message in a world that seems increasingly divided.

The artwork consists of an enlarged four-leaf clover made of metal, with leaves in transparent epoxy in green, yellow, blue, and red. The combination of metal and epoxy is a signature element of my artistic practice and creates a balance between strength, refinement, and organic growth.

Prior to the 2026 festival, UNITE was temporarily installed on the grounds of the Provincial Recreation Domain De Schorre in Boom, where Tomorrowland takes place annually.
